In today’s economic hard times many of us may need help in different ways. I have come to know from my Interfaith Council, of two pieces of good news that some of you or your family members or friends who are living in the United States, may find useful, and may be included in your association newsletter so all members can be informed:

1) In each county you can dial the phone number 211 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) for help when you need help such as:
* a hot meal, * Free or low-cost healthcare * Child care assistance * Care for aging parents * Employment resources * Overnight shelter * Treatment for substance abuse * And much more

You can also go to your county’s or city’s 211 website, such as for Orange County
County go to www.211oc.org for Los Angeles, CA www.211la.org or in general www.211.org and type in zip code, city, etc.

2) The 2010 Census is recruiting workers now for temporary jobs ($15 per hour and up) to collect census data.
Call toll-free 1-866-861-2010 or go to website www.2010censusjobs.gov
