Chicago, Invitation to Society of Scholars of Zoroastrianism Conference 1SSZ-2010 Conference – Chicago
The Mission of the Society of Scholars of Zoroastrianism (SSZ) is to revive the tradition of learning and scholarship within the Zarathushti community among Athornans and Behdins alike, and to promote interaction among academicians, theologians (priests), educationists, lay scholars and practitioners of Zoroastrianism through conferences, publications and roundtable discussions.
At this SSZ-2010 conference, presenters will be coming from Mumbai, Norway, Florida, Los Angeles, Toronto, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Houston and Chicago.
All community members, students and scholars are invited and encouraged to participate to support scholarship and religious education, at the academic as well as community level.

Welcome Dinner and Shah Nameh Night to commemorate the 1000th anniversary year of Firdausi. Avesta Pahlavi scholar Er. Parvez Bajan will give recitations from Shah Nameh and talk about the Life and Times of Firdausi. Saturday June 26th, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm Breakfast at 9:00 am Morning Session Dr. Pallan Ichaporia (University of Mainz) – Enigmatic verses in Behram Yasht; Viambura Demons with their Devilish Rituals Er. Soli Dastur (Florida) – Fravardin Yasht Michael Stausberg (Norway) – TBD.

Kaemerz Dotiwalla (Houston) – Trials and Tribulations on the Establishment of the First Consecrated Dar-E-Meher in the Western World. From Dream to Reality.
Er. Parvez Bajan (Mumbai) – Demonstration of consecration ceremonies for an Atash Kadeh with visuals by Er. Soli Dastur and explanation by Dr.
Pallan Ichaporia.

Open Discussion with Panelists Monday June 27th, 9 am – 12 noon Roundtable Dialogue with scholars and interested community members.
