Zoroastrianism is a religion based on the teaching of prophet Zoroaster. Founded in the 6th century BC, Zoroastrianism is considered one of the oldest religions of the world.Parsi Fire Temple, Metcalfe Street (Bandook Gali)The Parsi first arrived in India well before the birth of Christ and settled in the West Coast of India. About 200 years ago the Parsis first settled in Calcutta (Kolkata).

Zoroastrian Religion is the Best of all the other religions – so say the scriptures. Some Zoroastrians have written on other forum that Zoroastrians respect all alien religions among which is also Islam whose followers in Iran almost wiped us out and still call those left behind in Iran animals, after being called Dhimmies =infidels, for centuries. These writers who have written such were unable to give any scriptural evidences or citations from Avesta, Gathas and Pahlavi texts, all they have said that they have studied Hinduism , or one Dilip knows much about Hinduism. Why not follow Zarathsuhtra and study his religion, and if these people are right than Zarathustra is wrong as he said in the GATHA USHTAVAITI – Yasna 44.10 as follows
Tam daeenam yaa haatam vahishta
THIS RELIGION WHICH IS THE BEST FOR THOSE WHO EXIST
This is reflected in the Young Avesta which I suppose all those who believe in other religions pray Jasa Me Avabghe Mazda while doing kushti YA HAAITI NAAMAACHA BUSHYENTINAAMCHAA MAZISHTAACHA VAHISHTAACHA SRAESHTACHA YA AAHUIRISH ZARATHUSHTRIS THIS ZOROASTRIAN RELIGION FROM AHURA, OF ALL THE RELIGIONS THAT HAVE BEEN OR THAT SHALL BE, IS THE GREATEST, THE BEST AND THE LOFTIEST.
One can see easily see that this is NOT the narrow view of our religion as someone wrote. Why the scriptures are silent in saying that Zoroastrians respect all alien religions and pray in Mandirs, Mosques, Churches etc. as the path to god is the same while some followers can go to their god by killing people of other faiths as is written in their book and may get virgins in heaven.
As far as Hinduism/vedic religion is concerned Zarathsuhtra separated from Devayasna long time back and brought forth worship of one God Ahura Mazda Why Artaxerxes broke Devidana where idols of several gods were worshipped and built Apadana where Ahura Mazda the one God was worshipped. See also Dhalla -History of Zoroastrainsim where he wrote that CONQUERING PERSIAN ARMIES BROKE PLACES WHERE IDOLS WERE WORSHIPPED.
Parsis are free to worship Hindu idols, Muslim Darghas, study Hinduism and other beliefs as they please. Please note your views are your own but the truth remains the truth. No further discussion will be forth coming, please spare me a headache.
Zarathushtra Spoke Thus in his GATHAS: – Brief summary
The enemies of the new religion of Zarathushtra, in the first place, the
nomadic tribes that feel disdain for settled life, the establishment of
agriculture and careful tending of cattle, still pray to the old false
nature-gods, the daevas, the devas of the old Indo-Vedic religion before complete
breach brought by Zarathushtra. In the eyes of the adherents of
Zarathushtra, these daevas become distinctly evil existences, deceitful idols, and
demons. Those men or women who follow these daevas, and offer to them
sacrifices and reverence, are called friends of the daevas (daevo-zushta; dear to
the daevas in Yasna 32,4 – Ahunavaiti Gatha, just as Zarathushtra and his
followers are designated the friends of Ahura. And still more in a strophe
32,5.of the Gatha Ahunavaiti, Zarathushtra says: – You (daevas) cheat the
mortals of good life and immortality in the same way as both the evil spirit
with evil thought cheated you, the daevas.
Hello Forum and fellow members,
This is a question of which i had to argue about, whether we Zoroastrians fast or not and if we do so then when and why.
Help us educate each other.
Zoroastrianism is based around the concepts of Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds and Good and Evil. The religion itself is older than what modern scholars date it; it has existed before the dawn of time, before written history. It is believed by many Zoroastrians today that the religion was founded 8000 years ago. This is a traditional date as we see in the Denkard and the Shahnameh but is thought to be mythical by most scholars. The Gathas support the 1500BC date because they were believed to be composed by the founder of the religion, Zarathustra Spitama. However, the date of 6000BC was supported by the Ancient Greeks and would probably have been more accurate as they were the first foreign people to put a date on the founding of our religion. Kings of the past like Jamshed are thought to be mythical as they existed before written history but in the Iranian tradition they really existed and are remembered as the first kings of Iran rather than the Elamites, Medians and Achaemenids. It is interesting how it was 8000 years ago that the last ice age ended and civilization began but according to books like the Denkard King Jamshed’s kingdom existed throughout the period but when it ended he took the best and purest of his people so that Zoroastrianism would survive. This was a mythical story to Western Scholars until recently. In 2010, Underground Aliens, an episode of the series Ancient Aliens an Underground city was found by the name of Derinkuyu. Archaeologists wonder if this was the ’mythical’ place the Denkard mentions where Jamshed took his people. This evidence if proved to be true could make Zoroastrianism the oldest religion in the world which would really show how great and influential it was to mankind. Today, Zoroastrianism may be a small religion but in the past has proven to revive itself from dark times. I am very confident that the dark days of the religion are coming to an end and it will be revived and the lost texts will be found. Most people would disagree with my belief and say it’s not possible considering the Islamist Iranian Government but there are many stories of Muslim Iranians who want to return to their roots and want to be part of the religion their land once belonged to
