Derinkuyu in Turkey: Ancient Zoroastrian City?

Derinkuyu is a stupendous ancient underground city in Turkey.

With its thirteen floors going down 85 m, it was large enough to house 30,000 thousands people together with their livestock and food stores. But why was it built?
